This song holds many meanings for me.

Number one, it's written for my wife. It is a heartfelt expression of my love for her. It also represents the fact that for some reason, the upcoming movie "Cloud Atlas" seems to be an almost direct representation of our lives, mine and hers together, for the last 2,000 years.

According to the Psychic Phil Jordan, we've been together for a long long time.

And yet, somehow, we always seem to find each other.

This song also represents to me what I think it will feel like when I die. Hopefully it will be as peaceful as this song sounds, and not some horrible car crash, but even if it is, I hope there will be some moment of grace in it all, and eventually hope it meant something to be who I was, who I am now, regardless, and hope beyond hope that there is a much better place than this.

Otherwise, what is it all for anyway?

It is my way of saying goodbye, and hello again to her, to everyone else, and when I close my eyes the final time, I hope to re-open them looking upon the love of my life again, be it in this world, or the next.

It can mean to anyone else what you want it to mean, I just thought everyone should hear my side of the story first, then judge on your own what it really means for you.
